SUPERVISION is a process of feedback, guidance, and support for those working in the social services as well as to students in their first attempts to start their practice.
The goal is to help emotionally and practically a person or staff to improve their quality of work, as well as to protect themselves from any risk of a professional burnout.
Supervision can be:
• individual (discussing casework and professional decision-making process, dealing with personal feelings or issues triggered in the process)
• in a group (to discuss case and to offer a space for mutual exchange).
Supervision is often conducted in a non-traditional format using the methods of the expressive art therapy and family constellations, rather than just discussing cases. This form of feedback often serves as a personal therapy for the client, although it does not replace it.
