Everyone who has ever done personally or professionally inner child work knows about Alice MILLER. She is a Swiss psychologist and psychoanalyst of Polish-Jewish origin, and one of the biggest experts in healing childhood traumas and emotional abuse. Her books have been translated in 90 languages and the majority of specialists use her seminal work.
Martin Miller – her only son– works as a psychotherapist near Zurich. His book is a reconstructed biography of his mother, as well as a portrayal of his own childhood and his relationship with his parents. It paints an entirely different picture about Alice Miller, one that could fully recontextualize popular belief: it presents us with a life full of lies, secrets, oppression and child abuse.
Who was Alice Miller in reality?
What motivations play a role in the fact that a mother, who has genius insights into the nature of conditioning and the psyche of a child, is in reality incapable of care and sensitivity to her own kid and does not take responsibility for her own actions?
The reality that Martin Miller lived as the child of Alice Miller constructs a picture of a childhood full of secrets, opression, violence and aggression, silence and neglet. Through the lense of the past, we come to witness the real story of a mother and her son in their traumatic realtionship, where each one of them has their personal pain to share.
The play portrays the personal, familial and societal traumas and maps a road for healing. The psychodrama was intended to create a therapeutic and artistic space for healing, and the liberation from the past
What is a toxic mother?

Reviews from viewers:
"We saw a two-person play together this summer, a brilliant and very, very moving play about Alice Miller, the legendary psychoanalyst and child psychologist, based on the writings of her son, Martin Miller, also a renowned psychologist. It was a chamber piece, autobiographically inspired, and let's just say that since it was fantastically acted by the actors, even though it was weeks ago, I'm still under its influence. Alice was played by Yvette Feuer and Martin was played by Roland Rába, with shattering power" - D. Tóth Kriszta
"I was not prepared for what I was about to witness. Nor was I prepared to talk about it for days after the play and not be able to put my feelings into words. The play depicts the transgenerational tragedies of humanity's greatest crime, the effects of which are still being passed down from generation to generation. The most poignant element of the story is the similarity of fates and the still unresolved pain and emotional ambivalence about the sins of others. The proof of incomprehensible inhumanity is the means and choices of the struggle for survival and the emotional rupture of a mother. It is about a generation that we are slowly forgetting, their sufferings fading into obscurity, yet we carry their tragedy in our cells. I've seen the play several times, and from time to time I feel I must take someone with me, because this is something everyone should see. Each time I discover something new in the play and in myself. Each time, the emotional resonance between Yvette Feuer and Roland Rába makes me believe that the story is born there and then, and that the drama of these two people is their own. Legacy is the most defining theatrical experience of my life so far, inspiring me to keep working on my own family history, to break traumas, especially for the sake of my children."
