August 25 – 30, 2026
Saas-Fee, Switzerland
High in the Swiss Alps, surrounded by glacial peaks, quiet forests, and the slow rhythm of mountain life, this five-day creative writing retreat offers you what most artists crave—and rarely find: time, focus, and permission.
Here, writing is not about getting it right or making it good. It’s about self-expression. We use writing as a self-discovery process, as a therapeutic and reflective tool. Writing in that sense becomes a space where you can meet yourself.
This retreat is guided by expressive arts therapist Elitsa Velikova, whose practice blends psychology, creative therapies, and self-awareness work. With more than 20 years of international experience leading workshops and therapeutic groups, she creates a safe, insightful space where writing becomes a tool for healing, clarity, and transformation.
The Capra is an award-winning five-star superior boutique hotel known for its personalized service, tranquil luxury, and refined alpine elegance. The Capra is a proud member of Swiss Deluxe Hotels and holder of two Michelin Keys.
Nestled high in the Swiss Alps, Saas-Fee, referred to as the “Pearl of the Alps”, is a car-free mountain village embraced by towering peaks, pristine glaciers, and untouched natural beauty. With over 300 days of sunshine, pure alpine air, and a serene, unhurried pace of life, Saas-Fee offers an ideal setting for both inner stillness and physical renewal.
Writing is a way of making meaning out of uncertainty and chaos. It isn’t about having answers first. It’s about entering the unknown and discovering meaning through the act of putting words down.
Writing, like life, is messy, multilayered and nonlinear. And like us human beings, writing rarely arrives fully formed. Drafts are imperfect, wandering, and often frustrating, but that messiness is essential to finding truth.
This creative course is an invitation to show up, rather than wait for inspiration, to give yourself the time to metabolize life, some personal themes and to reach deep inside to what truly matters.
Sometimes writing is a brave, vulnerable process of staying with what’s difficult long enough for clarity to emerge. We have the best setting for silence and retreat.
• You want to open space for the important in your life, for what truly matters.
• You want to use creative writing for self-development and personal growth.
• You dream of writing and expressing yourself creatively but doubt your talent.
• You want to understand what stories live within you, what your imagination wants to reveal to you, and what messages come about your life.
• You want to finally begin—or return to—the book you’ve been thinking about.
No previous experience is required. You only need curiosity, openness, and the willingness to begin—one sentence at a time. What emerges in the writing process will be used as a map—from which we draw messages, guidance, and direct answers for our lives.
Mornings begin with a three-hour writing workshop in a mountain-view library, guided by prompts, discussion, and gentle feedback.
Afternoons are open for silent writing, alpine walks, spa time, or optional guided hikes.
Evenings are for readings, sharing fresh pages, and reflecting together over a drink.
